Enough to try out on the wingtips anyways.

Then you'll at least know if you should buy more from Ed.

It's better to come by myself then asking anyone if that is ok with you.

Make arrangements to send someone over.

Re: Flitemetal samples

Jeff, , ,

Did you sand the surface a bit smoother, maybe about a 220 or 300 paper?

I had two burnishing sticks from Ed to basically show guys what to use.

I found another way to press it down.

These burnishing sticks seem to be a pressed paper product of some sort.

So, , , I got some cardboard, from the back of a pad of paper, and simply folded it up a few times to make a stick. It worked very well and did not scratch the foil at all.

If you pop over tonight I'll give you more to play with. I'm home all evening.
You can strip off the wrinkled up one and try it again.

Re: Flitemetal samples

thanks mike

i did sand the smaller section with 800 grit and that section came out perfect

the larger section was un sanded and not applied properly (me being overzealous)

no need for another sample, as i'm sure with the proper prep and patience it will be a fine product to use.
