Buffalo build

Well I thought I would document my Depron Buffalo build.. I have always wanted to build a Buffalo and thought, what the heck I'll do one in 6mm and 3mm Depron.. WS is 72", which brings the first problem of a builtup wing or just a slab.. We'll I'll figure that out when the time comes.. Will be 4 ch, 4 servos (have to figure out what servos to use too), 2 speed controls and 2 brushless motors (another "what to use" item).. Here's the start, I expect it to take about 2 weeks, depending on the wing build too.. My own plans, and will be a standoff scale..

Re: Buffalo build

Should prove to be a really interesting build article. Certainly, all of your projects are admired.

Re: Buffalo build

Hey Lorne one Dehavilland electric is enough (and a twin to boot) .. My one big problem is what motors to use ? I do have two 30amp brushless speed controls... I figure a AXI 2212-08 size of motor will do, but who knows...

Re: Buffalo build

Hi Darren,
We have a giant scale electric buffalo at our field here in Vernon.
I'll try and find a picture for you.
Also, if you like send me your email address and I will get you in touch with the builder!

Re: Buffalo build

Found some:
It's a beauty, he's running two AXI motors on it, not sure of the particulars, it's around 120 inch or so span!

Re: Buffalo build

WOW that one is beautiful.. Mine is going to nothing like that.. It will just be a cheap, ugly, fast build, one...

Re: Buffalo build

Beautiful plane, must be some pretty big brushless motors for a 120" span
