I also have a '72 Riv that needs some work before tire burning...I mean cruising season starts.

Re: Winter projects!

I am determined to finish my Super Bandit this winter! That one is priority.

Then, if I get that one done, I want to finish my Waco Taperwing!

If I manage to finish the both of those, I want to rework my CAI Razor and get it so it's flying and in between the first two I need to replumb the air system in my Rafale so I can fly it next year too.

Should I happen to run out of projects after those I also have to finish:

IMP Hawker Hurricane
KMP F7F tigercat
CMP Giles
Comp Arf Impact
Sig Ninja
Graupner Race Rat
H&M Miss Candace
And a partridge in a pear tree...

Thumbs up Re: Winter projects!

Well Gary:

I've just commited to an 8' Unionville Beaver with floats. I think I'll put a Zenoah G20ei up front. Looking at this box of sticks brings back some fond memories. This should be a fun build. Due to time available it may take a season or two to complete, but it will be well worth the time.

BTW, I'm sure I'm one of those confused fellows who once asked, "Who the heck is Charlie?" ;*)

Re: Winter projects!

Oh, Man! Too many to list! If I get 10% of the things done that I would like to, I'll be golden.
- Midwest AeroStar .60 to put servos and Rx in and get set up
- Cap 232 to assemble,
- Electric Sea Wind to finish,
- OS .70FS to repair,
- Kadet Senior to finish rebuilding,
- 2 x Kadet LT-40 to resurrect,
- EAA Bipe to think about getting on the building board,
- Super Sportster .40 to get back into building,
- Several foamy electrics I would like to get flying,
- etc.......

That's all I can recall quickly.

And then there is the "Honey Do" list. (Don't even go there!)

Re: Winter projects!

I hate these threads, when you write down the list it gets depressing

1: Flying Dog House from M.A.N. plans, already started cutting out the parts
2: Sopwith Camel (ok it's an ARF but it still has to be assembled )
3: Buhl Pup from RCM plans. Cutting out parts for myself and a buddy before Christmas this year if it kills me
4: Eagle II to carry cameras to get more arial photography and utility plane, got a deal on a kit.
5: Flying Thingz Lawnmower, got a kit at the London swap meet.
6: Gotta finish up a Lazy Bee, just need to build the fuse and cover
7: A few touch ups on some of the fleet as well, maybe a new combat and maybe finish a quick winter flier I also got at London.

The list can go on and on, I have another ~10+ kits in the wings and waaaay too many plans on hand. I knew this would be depressing! Work keeps getting in the way so I didn't have enough time to crash what I have or build more.

At least the @%$# Goldberg Sukhoi finally got done but that is another story

So, what are you building this winter - or what special projects are you going to be working on?? I know that we don't always get all that we wanted to do done, but its fun to see what others are planning all the same. So please list away my friends. It will be interesting to show our intentions now and then in the Spring, see how much of what we planned actually got done!

I have three kits I would like to build this winter:

No.1 ...priority will be a Balsa USA 1/4 scale Neiuport 17 with a new Zenoah G26i which I would like to detail as much as I can for scale appearance.

No.2 oldie kit by Ace RC called an Air Scout. 52" span and powered by a .25 engine 2 stroke OR seriously thinking of an electric conversion. My first airplane when I was learning to fly back in 1991.

No.3 ...a newly aquired "Oldie" kit with a small 4 stroker .30 - .40 size 72" span.

AND A continueing project is my Balsa USA 1/4 scale J3 Cub which I am really hoping to put some time on and get the thing done!!! It's only been 9 years in the shop... But this is a very special build for me and I am holding back nothing in the detailing. Full interior cockpit, scale landing gear, fully functioning servo controlled rear stab, and all the other scale features I can pack into it. The dream continues......

ONE last thing but not least is to have my AW Yak 54 completely setup, motor broken-in, and ready for IMAC competition in the Spring!

Thats it for me folks....ok whats on your list for the winter???????? >>>>>
Gary - I hate to say this but with three in r/c, in this house , cleaning the basement [the shop ] to get to the planes, may take untill spring! . Lets see my oldest son has Carden Yak on the first table. My youngest son [12] has his scratch built plane that needs a radio and engine installed on the next table. I have A Byron Pitts. Next1/3 scale Balsa USA Sopwith pup to install a radio and engine. Then I have 13 other planes in different stages of construction.

I guess you can get the plan

Re: Winter projects!

For the last month been going nuts on a TF corsair. Just got my engine for the Pica T-28 and will finish it this winter, need retracts still. Pica spit is all ready for painting, realy wanted to finish this one this spring oh well.
Need to add lots of down thrust to my 1/4 scale DR-1 for next season. Few more warbirds in the boxes, saving those for next year. Lots of small stuff to finish to. Should be a nice relaxing winter. Getting married Dec. 31 to a good woman who likes my hobby and dose'nt mind me spending lots of time in the work shop, thanking God.

Lest we forget
