Re: Winter projects!

For me winter is crazy busy hauling my son around to hockey and even more so this year because i am coaching. Couple that with my 4 year old daughter starting hockey this winter plus my rec hockey and being involved with the senior men's hockey team (see a pattern forming here.......) and my wife doing craft shows, I won't have a lot of time for building, but here are my projects

1. fix and recover my Sig Somethin Extra
2. assemble Pulse XT ARF
3. outfit a Twist 40
4. Build a CT-114 Tudor pusher from Mike Pastro Plans.
5. Purchase and assemble a 50CC Extra from either AW or EF

I will have the Ct-114 on the building table all winter but will be working on the others as well.

Proud owner of a Hitec A9!!

Re: Winter projects!

My winter projects include finally (after a 15 year delay) finish my SIG Senior and see if it will indeed fly off my frozen lake in the back yard; get a start on the Great Planes Seawind I picked up in Toledo last spring; matbe get a start on the J-3 Cub (from Hostettler plans). If I get the SIG flying , I'll be happy.
Good luck fella's with all your winter projects.

Re: Winter projects!

Last winter was the Topflite DC3 which wasn't done until later in the summer, this winter I'll be building a cedar strip canoe... I know, I know, but I really don't have much more room for airplanes I do have some work to do on a plane or two, and have to get the skiis on the Extra for the snow flying.

I think I jumped the gun...winter has just started and well I am just about finished it, ..but wait sanata is still coming, I might get something else to build..but here is what I have done so far. Pheonix Decathlon as well as get the alpha 40 ready for the snow, still working on that..Made a front end for the alpha, something to fill in the bottom of the engine comparment, I think it turned out all right.

Re: Winter projects!

I see a lot of us have eyes that are bigger than our stomachs
I'm definitely no exception to that one.
In no particular order...
-new floors in my 65 mustang...maybe LGM can offer some assistance with that one if I get stuck.
-Balsa USA Eindecker
-Hobby Hangar DVII
-help my 12 year old build his n-scale train layout.
-ringette, curling, cadets, piano

I love me the illusion that I'll have time to do stuff I couldn't get done in summer

Thumbs up Re: Winter projects!

My wife tells me I am a procrastinator, What ever that is.But these are the projects I have started over the past couple of years Lancaster,Bf 109,FW190,and a Skyshark TBM Avenger, The avenger is th closest to completion.Just neds to be covered.

But the nice thing about it is that the army gives me a 21 day Xmas break, So I should get most of it completed..

I will insert pics in the next couple of days

OH Yes then there is the B24 and the 132 inch Herc, But they will have to wait until my new 22x40 workshop is completed in the spring, Then I can procrastinate all I want with all the aircraft I want and my wife won't know cause I am not going to give her the key.

Re: Winter projects!

I want to pick up the CT 114 EDF kit when they're available, and also build an F3P style plane ASAP and get into some indoor flying.

Nothing overly ambitious, but should keep me out of trouble!

Re: Winter projects!

Well even though I know I probably won't get them both done this winter, I have two new kits to add to my "To-Do" list.

A "Red Zephar" kit which will be powered with a Saito 40 SF, this winter for sure!

And a Sig 1/3 Scale "Spacewalker" kit. Probably next winter's project, which will be powered most like by either a Zenoah G45 or i'll get another DL-50!

Finally starting to get some planes in my hangar, if I get them all built or finished this century!
