Yes I did do the glass when I outfitted the 'Roo originally, but I only did the seam from the wing to the nose. This soft area was about 1.5 to 2" extending in about 4" more from the fins toward the tank area on both sides in nearly the same places at the LE where the fins are meeting the fuselage. It had gotten progressively worse over the summer and is not repairable in my opinion.
The 'Roo was travelling routinely at straight and level passes at over 385kph ground speed (235 MPH) according to the JetCat GPS onboard, all summer and I guess I just plain wore out the composite structure at that spot. It is obviously a pressure point on that airframe. No worries I was about ready to heave it anyway.
Before I get flamed over the speed thing it was out in no man's land with a lot of nothing around for many many miles. Probably the day when the fuel tank leaked out about a half litre of fuel inside the 'Roo did not help the structure either. I had dried it and tested it all over and it seemed fine, but I guess over time there was some softening. I caught it well ahead of failure but I would not have wanted to fly it had I seen how soft it was over how large a space.

Re: Elan Jet For Sale
Imagine mixing these guys with kerosine and pizza, it's going to be a riot
I have to say that Len is an original, one of a kind and alway very helpful.
That is a good price for the Elan, I have to agree with Dean, too bad that I just bought the Boomer intro. I'm disappointed with the Doug and kapt. K. though, the Wren has 116 min on it instead of 19 min. need I say more, hope you can learn from my mistakes.
On a more positive note, my F-15 should be here by month end, HeeeHaaa.
I'm sure there are few more new jets out there if you care to share.
