Frank Zaic yearbooks

Today was my lucky day, visiting a large antique mall not to far from me my girlfriend came across a eight volume set of Frank Zaic books all neatly tied together with a string. She walked over to me with them in hand and asked if I was interested in these and my jaw hit the floor. There was no price on the set, just the origonal price stickers on the inside of the covers from "Joe`s Hobby Centers Michigan" $2.50. When I approached the counter and asked how much, the mall`s owner said I could have them for $20 bucks. Whatta deal!

So now I have a total of nine volumes of the Zaic Model Aeronautic Year Book spanning sixteen years.

If any one of you wishes to have a 3 view of any of the models in one of these sets, or any information, let me know and I will post a scan.

Re: Frank Zaic yearbooks

Yes ISGUNN, today I felt super lucky. I had just by coincidence bought not 6 weeks ago 3 Zaic volumes from Hannan`s Runway in California for around $13 bucks each, plus shipping and the change in the money. And I was still happy to get them.

If you are a old timer model freak, be it gas, rubber, or chuck, these Zaic books are a must have. Lots of three views and plans, aerodynamic model theory, tips, and just a good hunk of nostalgia from Jasco.

Heard about them for years, now I finally got my grubby mitts on some.

Good for you Chad - will have a look at your Zaic Yearbooks next time I am over. . . thought you might like to know that thanks to "The Preacher", a.k.a. "The Grand PooPaw" the Lancer kit that I purchased is taking on a new life under new management. John has got the fus pretty well framed up and extended 4" at the rear and 2" at the front per your inspiration. He says he can build the wing in his sleep. We all know, including John, that he will eventually hit the critical point in this build that he is famous for and it will be mine to finish. However, having said that, without his work, the plane would still be in a small box so I am grateful to him. The only problem is with eventual ownership should the thing get done. I say the plane is his and he says the plane is mine. (I'll admitt a rather unusual problem to have.) Regardless, it is great to have good friends to enjoy this hobby with. . . Cheers
