Can we reserve a spot on the order list right away? (even if they are not 20" or less?)
The smaller ones will come later.
All I can say is the the new ones will use the same hardware, including the CF as the YAK55, reserving one is not a problem.

Elec NEW Blue Foamie!

Attached find a few photos of the "New Kid/Foamie" on the block - the SBach 342 - up here in the cold, cold north, when a few hours spent flying foamies in a nice, warm gym becomes very appealing!

An interesting website describing the original full-scale version:

For details on this intriguing new entry, contact GB.

Cheers!

Re: Blue Foamie

Better be bringing some of those SBACH's this coming weekend Gaston! I like the bigger wing area.
Wow you've been busy.

Re: Blue Foamie

I see MercoMan was quicker to go to print than me. No problem, I will try not to duplicate. Picture one is the Foam Meister Master himself with a prototype of the new Sbach 342 and the 300 which we have been test flying. The next two pics are the Sbach beside a YAK and the Sbach beside a 300. The differences in wing area are evident in the pictures. As I haven't flown the 300 yet I only assume that it has to be flown faster than the Sbach and YAK but master computer manipulator Ray who creates the milling files for FoamStar can work magic with his 300. The last picture shows the new square milled design these use. It does make these lighter but my ham handed flying techniques could test the ultimate strength of the overall design.

Re: Blue Foamie

Speaking of flying techniques, I am including a before picture (read undented) of my Sbach. A quick look back to Harry's pics will show the 3 pointer I scored in the basket while standing behind the line. It is a good thing that Gaston lives close and I can save the shipping costs. I am probably his biggest customer.

Re: Blue Foamie

Looks like I'm safe.... Won't need to buy this one right away (tucking money back into wallet) I'll wait for a future smaller version (C'mon Gaston, this gym look small, you could have more pilots in the air with a 20" wingspan ) I'll keep flying my Yaks for now. How does the Sbach fly? I'm guessing a bit slower than the Yak?

BTW, any reason for going with straight milling? I really like the diagonal pattern on the Yak...

It will fly in any gym, I've been hovering it in my basement, between the tv, the couch and a coffee table, you'll see how well it performs on the weekend, I'll let you try it. I has extremely good slow flight characteristics but it can also go very fast, just be ready, you won't be able to resist...

Hugh
Thanks for the pics and the low down on the foamies, you didn't have to tell anyone it was your plane in the basket, could have easily been mine, you're too honest.. good job.
