Hugh

so I could be the lightweight King (Sbach not me) again

That's a good one Hugh, that never in a million years crossed my mind.. the only thing left for me to do is remove all the foam..

Yeah!!! I have absolutely no clue why, but milling always look better in a X pattern! I'm now looking forward to crash my two Yaks so I can get this one! (Unless we have a smaller bird coming out this summer )

Hi Real
The smaller version might come out in the fall, maybe. I still love the Yaks, they are a bit lighter...

Re: Blue Foamie

Today was one of the best turnouts this winter. This can be seen in the Rogues Gallery shot in Pic#1 with the number of flyers present. We were visited by three flyers from Bracebridge today. Pic#2 shows Hugh (great name Hugh) and Mark from Bracebridge, Regular Ray from Sudbury, Graden from Bracebridge and Gaston from Foamyville. Pic#3 shows some local flying and prepping for the flightline. Pic#4 shows the flightline with Ron heading for his plane, Red and wife Diane resting and a few flyers. A great time was had by all. Nice to have some out of towners come fly with us. They then picked up their own sea of blue foam as well as a milling show and a building session
before heading home. Thanks for coming guys.

Hugh

Re: Blue Foamie

Mornin guys...
Well, first of all the sBach looks great, any kits yet??
And, thank you Hugh for the potos.. prospective new flyers in the future? You betcha!
Club meeting tonight and one of the fellows is giving a talk on Electrics... Should be interesting. Sure hope he talks about the prop designations, DD, Hd, SF etc... Getting pretty deep into the subject now.... Have found out that SF props aint good on bigger motors, to easy to throw a prop at the higher RPM's....
My Bristol M1 scale model is coming along now, most patterns made, and some foam cut..
Summer? Will it never get here????

Re: Blue Foamie

I am totally biased I admit, but I really was pleased with the build review in the latest MAAC Magazine of the blue foamie.
The whole article was presented in a center fold out position with common photos and did justice to a very successful project by Gaston, that has added a new dimension and impetus to indoor flying in Canada.
Thanks for the effort Keith.

Re: Blue Foamie

We all know that the kits that Gaston came out with are incredible, but did you knew that the Yak can also do vertical landing? Watch me land it in a little bit of wind today. Didn't want to have to walk in the snow to pick it up, so I went for vertical landing beside us.

Beware, the good landing is around the 4:00 minute mark. The one at the end (if you skip the whole video) is definitively not as good! (Had to walk to go pick up my plane!)

Gaston, again, thanks for a wonderful kit. Sorry for the bad paint job on mine... I cannot really fly it inside (no gym available) and the first time I flew it outside was without paint... Needless to say, blue on blue (without sunglasses!) was truly interesting. So I made sure I could spot it in the sky from now on!

BTW: NO SOUND... All you could hear was the wind anyway, and it was very noisy!

Enjoy
