There has been a change in our opening day.... London.... Boys and Girls club.....
Because of the LMAC's swap shop on November the 13, we have changed our opening day to NOVEMBER 20TH... SAME TIME, SAME PLACE...
Pass this info around to any indoor flyers you know please...

Re: Blue Foamie

Once again, we're very fortunate to start a new season at our gym in Hanmer. We had a blast practicing moves which will be needed during a indoor funfly I'm planning later this year. We're trying to minimize damage to the airplanes by using low impact materials or setups. As you can see the light posts will fall when the ribbon or the posts are hit, that's probably one of the tests Hugh was doing during a Limbo pass... you can also see Dwight doing a successful inverted pass, he's out of the contest...just joking.. that just means, I need more practice.

Re: Blue Foamie

For no particular reason, after looking at some Depron in one corner of my shop, I decided to mill an Sbach with it. I, then thought it would be a good idea to weigh each one to find out how much heavier FanFold is. To my astonishment, all the Depron foam parts weighed 58 grams and the FanFold parts only weighed 48 grams, all those years, I was certain FanFold was heavier. Mind you that most Depron indoor models I've seen were 3mm thick, the sheets I used for the Depron and the FanFold were 5mm thick. I'll give you my pros and cons after I fly the Depron Sbach for a while, today was very good, I was lucky enough not to get hit with it...except once, right Hugh , we'll see what happens next week.

Awww gee, you guys have started yer indoor program... Fooooy, ours is still a month away, but just think, I'll be able to get my sBach built, in time for opening day....
Sounds like you have discovered something with the weights, Gaston, now, what was the result of flyin the Depron one??
As for the FanFold, was that the green you found, or still the blue??
Hey, enjoy, snow is coming guys....

Hi Art
We're quite spoiled to be able to start our indoor season early.
As for Depron vs Blue Foam weight, I was quite surprised, I took it for granted that Depron was lighter, just to show you what happens when you don't check things out yourself.
I have enough blue foam for 800 planes, should be good for a season at least.
Depron has the advantage of being stiffer than Blue Foam but it's biggest drawback is being very fragile, you have to be very careful not to hit anything, compared to Blue Foam.

Sounds good, we'll be waiting.

I would ask everyone to be patient with this gentleman, his name is Dwight, he's Deaf and has a hard time to write sometimes, he's learned everything on his own from the internet and a flight simulator. He can teach us many things, including courage and kindness, he's joined our club and our indoor flying group.
He's becoming a very good pilot as you can see in his hover, even made a basket, he's been trying to teach me sign language, he must be frustrated, I have a hell of a time learning, it's much harder than I thought but he's very... very patient.

Re: Blue Foamie

There were only 3 of us at the gym, Thanksgiving and nice weather prevented many from attending but I'm sure we'll see more people shortly, I'm sorry to say but this unusual weather won't last very long.

Here's a fine picture of John, flying and relaxing.
