Hello Gaston, I have read through a fair bit of this thread. Very informative, thanks for the info. I am about to assemble my first foamy. Slightly different design but i used your parts list to order the servos motor esc etc from HK.
I am going to try my Futaba 6EXAS first with a corona rx and hxt servos.
Wondering what the best wayto hook up the bat/esc/motor/servos to the rx is. I ordeedr some Rhino 2S lipo 450 mha for batteries so does one need a regulator?
Fortunately I ordered several rxes as I have already discovered what I now know is the famous blue smoke. Alas, it may have been a polarity issue.
Clearly a bit of research required here. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Jason
Your battery weighs approx. 6 grams heavier than the 360's but if that's all you got, it should be ok.
As far as wire connections from the battery to the esc you will need a JST connector, they call it a female connector but that's for the plastic part, inside, it has male pins, here's the link
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...0pcs_set_.html
there are special crimpers for it but needle nose pliers will work fine, I never used solder and never had an issue afte more than one hundred installations.
I usually solder the motor leads to the esc, if you set the motor flat on your workbench and the the writing on the esc against the bench and solder the wires in the sequence shown on the picture, you should get the right rotation You dont have to worry about regulators those esc will give you the right voltage to the receiver through the lead that you'll plug in the throttle channel on your receiver, channel 1 for JR and Spektrum and channel 3 for Futaba

Re: Blue Foamie

Hi Gaston, thanks for the reply. I actually ordered the male and female fittings with the other stuff and have the crimp tool(Tbolt RC). Got it figured out now. Crimped and set with the battery. Did'nt realize there was a bec built in to the esc. Too bad I figured it out too late for that rx.
Just need to get the three wires to the motor hooked up.(soldered)
Thanks again your info here has been invalueble.
I will probably get more batteries a bit smaller.
Great thread.

We had more people today, mostly due to high winds and colder weather, it was a good day for indoor flying.
