Hi everyone

There were quite a large number of indoor flyers today but three of us managed to test the mini Sbach (20 inch ) . Even though we didn't have the lighter components and the planes weighed between 2.85 (HUgh) and 2.9 oz. (Ray and I) they were a blast to fly, I can just imagine when we get down near 2 oz, how much more fun it'll be.

Re: Blue Foamie

Hi

Somehow, I managed to get tangled with another foamy and ended up with a small opening in the right wing.. went back in the air, couldn't tell the difference. I'll make a new one this week, doesn't look too good, seriously, it wasn't my fault, ask Steve.

I heard you were in "Steve's" space Gaston, not the other way around. Actually I think we were all in each others spaces today. However the small and agile ones ( planes not pilots ) meant we were able to get away quicker. Even with an outsized motor and small props these were great performers. They do all the bigger ones do but in a smaller space. Should be better with more appropriate motors and smaller batteries, maybe 2 ounces!! Had a great day and was comfortable flying mine as it was not as high speed as I thought it would be. Still a long way to go before rolling circles etc. like you though Gas.

It was actually me who ran into Steve's flying tank, Afterwards, because the plane is so small, I was able to fly rolling circles with ease in a small area at one end of the gym and stay away from the bad guys I had the best time of my life, what a blast. Thanks to Ray for working on the file and to both of you for helping me test the mini Sbach.

Re: Blue Foamie

Wow, did we have a great time yesterday here in London.... Had a turnout of 18 flyers, and some of their sons.... These young fellas really know the basics of flyin... Puter games are to be thanked for this I guess... or no nerves....
A very sucessful day... Looking forward to the January event now..

Re: Blue Foamie

We have been flying since October and getting a steady turnout of 6 or so fliers each Sunday night at the local Gym. After Christmas that number will likely grow to 12 as some of the irregulars become regulars.

Last nite I remembered to the camera and good thing too as Jim showed up with his pride and joy Avro Arrow! It was rapidly put together on a build session Wednesday evening using the tried and true "that looks about right" methodology. The body is about three feet long and wing is around 24 to 30" span with a three channel set-up and a pusher motor. It was all built out of white $store foam board.

Did it fly? very well actually and covered ground rapidly!! It turned very well and stayed off the walls with ease. Glided really well when you cut power.

The rest up us made do with you motley collection of blue and white foamies. I have been playing with a 26" model that really works well in the gym. With no attempts to save weight the model flies at 150gms all up. using an HK2100kv motor and an 8" prop will see it hover at less than half throttle. Here are a couple of pics of the planes and pilots in action.
