Hey! I was shopping on the foamy website looking for an Extra-300 foamy but could not find one. What ever happened to the Extra? I need one and possible others need one to.

Good morning Art

These 2211 are quite powerful, I just wish they were a bit lighter but it's worth a try, I should be receiving ultra micro receivers and servos this week for trial, very small servos 1/4in wide X 1/2in long, that's the size of the the slots in the fuse.

Re: Blue Foamie

Glued fuse together yesterday, angle cut elevator and ailerons, then, got out my black craft paint and painted the bottom side BLACK, next, turn over and paint the top Orange..... Then continue on with assembly..
I did notice the WEEEEEE slots for the servos and thought....... Oppps, Gaston made a mistake here, but now with the microminiwee servos coming, I can see why these are so small...... Does this mean I have to wait till you test and get em????? Ho ho, not on yer life, I'll open em up a bit for my GWS Pico servos, 10mm X 23mm, weight-7gr, and use em. Motor? , hoping it has the power to pull it... Nother experiment.
I like your kit Gaston, clean cutting and LIGHT...
The paint scheme is from the sBach web site, orange and black, kinda catchy....
Should have it all together by this weekend..... Receiver? it's the HK orange one, out of the case, weight is only 4gr this way...
Great Job Gaston!

So far I'm down to 2.7 oz or 77 g, this is only by removing the wing braces (they are not needed) and making the landing gear 1 mm, instead of 1.5 mm.

Almost done, waiting for craft paint to dry then assembly begins.. You say wing braces are NOT needed??? You must fly gentler than me, ha ha.. OK, will check the weight as I go to see if it does make a difference in oveall weight..
Still gonna try that 2211 motor first tho...

Re: Blue Foamie

Art,
A quick way to dry paint is to use (GENTLY) your / a heat gun for shrinking covering. Lay down your paint and use the heat gun to flash it off. When the wet paint goes dull or flat you can eiuther lay down another coat or use another colour without it bleeding through. Even if the paint is gloss it will flaten out but no to worry, It will be gloss by the next day...
My son and I are still planning on travelling down the 401 to join you guys in some indoor flying this winter. Dad was out to the Tillsonburg fly a couple of weeks ago with a plane I made for him, he said he had a blast!

Re: Blue Foamie

Hey Flysrcs, that would be great to see you and your dad here... Let me know when you are planning and i'll give you the directions/date, OK?
Now, the paint did dry, fairly quick, it was just that I couldn't get the gumption up to go finish it, but, still have time...
I did take some pics of my progress, a little gluein, a lot of paintin, and a lot of thinkin... Here are the results so far..
Did some testing on beding.. Found the wing to be fairly strong so I might not use the braces afterall... Weight? I'm afraid to put it on my scale, the paint had definitly increased the weight, but then, a plain blue sBach aint what I want
Tally Hoooooo
