Re: Blue Foamie

I just finished my FF yak 55m. I used every the same as you guys with a ar6100e. AUW is a little more then i expected at 144g.

So far it hovers very nicely, but not tested outside.

Hi

Looks real good and it's an ounce lighter than the flue foam one I've built, nice work.

Get a bunch of 7mm nuts (pretty sure that is the size} that fits into the prop. Drill the nuts out with a bit slightly bigger than the motor shaft. I put a drop of hot glue into the prop before inserting the nut to avoid losing it if the prop comes off.

We've used different methods to make adapters, plastic, aluminum...etc, GWS has an adapter but it comes with other pieces that are not needed making it expensive and hard to get.
Lately, we've been drilling 7mm nuts with a no2 drill bit which is close to 7/32 in. the nuts only cost $0.10. Insert the nuts in a 7mm socket, hold the socket with a pair of wisegrip and drill them with a drill press, very easy to do and works really well.
You can also use a drop of ca. to secure the nut to the prop. We've tried to find an adapter at Hobby King without success, if you ever do, please let us know.

Here's the adapter required if you can find it.
