Nice pics Gaston. Who's the poor man's Santa? Ooops, that's me. Had fun with the foamy with the 10 gram motor from Hobby King. I didn't think it would fly the foamy but it did and did it well as long as hovering and rolling circles aren't your thing. The APC 7X6 worked on it and it flew well with it however for me the 7X4 SF propeller from Hobby King responded quicker when a burst of power was needed. I also tried an APC 6X5.5 however it seemed lacking in response and the take-offs were slower and it didn't seem to have as much speed. Time to build another milled yak with the 10 gram and re-establish myself as low weight champ of Hanmer High Gym.

Hi Terry

It's a good thing you mentioned paperwork, it reminds me that I have to print the 2011 insurance certificate, we're very fortunate, that's all they want from us.
Let us know how you make out and thanks for the update

Re: Blue Foamie

Gaston, that is good news... I'm itchin to give mine a try on the 16th.... Reminder, that's a good one, I have to print off our insurance certificate for our indoor site to, thanks guys for the reminder...
Now, my YAKKITYYAK, the lipos got weighed and the 2C is 25 gr, made the weight of the craft comeup to 5 grms.....(damn it) then checked the 3C, nope, at 35gr it adds too much weight, for the extra power, which I don't think the 10gr motor will take anyway... As for no 3D manouvers, it's ok, I have to learn all over again how to use the rudder on the left stick, as I said before, I'm an old RET flyer...
I hope your are keeping a photo album of all your YAKS that have, and in future will be, built... It will be interesting to see the guys renditions of their paint ideas...

Re: Blue Foamie

Nice pics Gaston. I really have to get that milled Yak in the air! The one in the pic is getting pretty beat up though it looks pristine in the picture. Must have been before my midair that klocked half the bottom off! LOL

Go for it, it only takes an hour, we'll be careful not to hit you on Sunday...

Hi Art

You'll be fine as long as you don't go too fast, that small motor will be perfect for a little while I'm sure. Thera are certainly a lot of nice paint jobs, I'm amazed by people's talents.

Re: Blue Foamie

Hi everyone

It was a very cold weekend, there's no way you would have caught me flying outside, thank God we have access to our gym. There had to be more than 25 people attending. We all had a great time, it was very busy but somehow my model survived the near misses.

Here are a few pics from Sunday.

From left to right:
Gisel with her nicely decorated Yak, Tyler who just built another nice one, Lee who managed to be with us and finally, myself, very happy to have survived the afternoon until I got home, anyways..
