Re: raptor 90 standerd

C'mon Carlyle, that craptor can out fly any time haha

Keith,

If you already have the R90 std, I definitely recommend a metal head block... sounds like you're planing on doing 3D, based on the equipment you have. 6-7V is what those servos work best on. The SGP Reactor and Arizona Heli regulator are most popular, and work really well. As for a governor, I'd recommend the ATG V3.

Hope this helps,

Colin

Yes, run the 8717 at 6v. They are fast, even at 6v. If you get a hold of a Scott Gray Reactor X dual regulator, you have two outputs, a steady 5.2v and selectable between 6v or 6.8v.

Running a governor would require you to break-in the engine and be properly tuned before the governor is active. I would suggest the Aerospire Multigov Pro.

For sport flying with my X-90, I run 3 x 8717, for the cyclic, with the SG Reactor X at 6v, a Multigov Pro, a Spartan DS-760 gyro/JR-8900G servo, finally, a YS 91SR long stroke with the Hatori SB19FH pipe. With the regulator set a 6.8v, the 8717 servos are lightning fast! I set the regulator to 6.8v when I am alert and awake!!

Most important, spend time at setting up your mechanics and links. If these are close to perfect, you would require less electronic/radio setting up and adjustment.

And, have FUN!

Thanks,

Gordon

Re: raptor 90 standerd

Nice Keith. That will treat you very well.

Take your time with this build and insure everything is right. I'm not sure if you've had a 90 sized machine before, but this will be a big step. You are really going to enjoy flying your raptor 90.

Re: raptor 90 standerd

thanks Colin and Carlyle for the helpful tips! this is my first 90 size heli and want to make sure that I am getting all the right parts for . I was thinking of getting a SG Reator X. Iam still looking into the governor ! is the ATG V3 a good one too get for now or is there better one's ? The engine is broke it ! What metal head should I get ? the raptor upgraded head or should I go all out and get a kasma head ? I bought the raptor 90 metal tail gear case and the SE pushpull set up up are there any more upgrades that I should get ??
