Zenoah G45 Won't Idle

I have a G45 converted to CD ignition. Recently, I have had a problem with the engine idling too fast. I am unable to turn the throttle down without the engine quitting. The low end needle valve has to be open about 4 turns in order to keep the engine running. Closing it down will cause it to quit.

I have installed a new carb kit, and replaced the plug, and still this problem persists.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Zenoah G45 Won't Idle

Not sure if you cleaned the carb when u replaced parts but, it sounds like you have a blockage in the low end jet because your needle is out so far (4 turns). Once you're out about 2 1/2 turns, the needle is off the seat and turning out more shouldn't make any difference.

Because it does in your case, makes me suspect somethings blocking the jet.

Also, the high idle indicates a lean bottom end, again indicating a blockage in the jet.

Hope that helps

Check the gasket between the carb and the body ...there is a small hole in the gasket that must line up with a hole on the carb and the engine body

Don't forget to check for air leaks too. Maybe at the carb to intake manifold connection or thereabouts.

That would also cause this sort of problem too.
