Haha, my bad, I'm an idiot.

Bouncing back and forth between web pages I mistook a page of searched posts I had requested for a page of today's new posts.

Sorry for the interruption, please resume your normal programming LOL!

It's too bad people have to become childish and attack someone for what they think about something.Everyone here has an opinion usually there are good points made on both sides. If you disagree fine but cut out nonesense on slighting individuals for their personal opinion.

Re: MAAC spend that FN money whooot!

My personal opinion is that the MAAC dues are now way too low.
Just Cutting costs every year is going to result in a lower profile and lack of services.

It takes funds to remain in the public eye and keep a high profile.
We need to have a high profile to keep our Insurance, our fields and
to negotiate with government agencies (Industry Canada re: Radios , Transport Canada , RABC, & FAI).
It is all part of the "package deal" needed to keep our members flying.

More money needs to be spent in all aspects of the model aircraft hobby.
Especially on Public Relations and Government Liaison.

I would ask any member how to get 7.5 million in Insurance (including third party landlord insurance) at such a low price.
With MAAC asking only a 500.00 deductible.
It is MAAC's Overall National Reputation as a Reliable Trusted Organization that keeps the Insurance rate low.
I don't think that even a larger club could even find such coverage available.

When negotiating fields for use by the clubs the Landowner Insurance and the profile of MAAC as a National Organization plays a major part.

When Negotiating with government at all levels from Federal to Local Councils the MAAC profile plays a major part.

Sponsoring of national ,Local, and International events is also vital to this profile.

MAAC needs to maintain a Strong National Profile & Presence in Canada.

It will take more funds available to do this.
They need to raise the dues to at least 100.00 per member and use this money to spend more to promote our hobby not to keep spending less.

Without Fields and Insurance we will not be flying for long.
The other costs including the office, administration, magazine and International competition are a necessary part of the overall reputation of MAAC and keep us in the air.

just my personal views as a MAAC member for a few years....,
If it has to be a few dollars more then so be it. $100.00 is not out of line at this time.
