Kudo's To Maac!!!!!!

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
In the past few weeks/months, there has been a heck of a lot of negative posts regarding MAAC, people who are upset about how their money is spent etc...

Well I'm tired of it, for the $75 a year it costs it is a GREAT service to us as modelers and to RC modeling as a hobby! It is plain and simple the cheapest insurance you will buy for anything, it is an organization that promotes our hobby in a safe and courteous way, it is an organization that does what it can to allow our fellow modelers to represent our country on a world level, it provides us with insurance that if we did NOT have it we would probably never find good fields to fly at.

It provides us with a magazine to show us some of the going's on across Canada, etc.

I say THANK YOU to MAAC. Is MAAC perfect? Probably not, most things aren't, but I for one am happy to have MAAC, I am happy that we modelers have a say should we chose to on who our elected officials are, and I'm happy that there is an organization out there willing to go to bat for the modeler and get us insurance.

If you don't like how MAAC operates, and you feel your money is being spent incorrectly, feel free to NOT join, go try to find private insurance that will cover you for $75 per year!

So again, THANK YOU to MAAC, you guys keep doing what you're doing and don't let the whiners get to you!!!

Re: Kudo's To Maac!!!!!!

Nice to see a positive post.

MAAC has become much more informative with their web site. Especially for those that actually check it regulary and read the postings.

I really appreciate the insurance coverage that helps us get and maintain good flying fields. MAAC also provides us with the ability to be insured when we fly in other countries for both sport and competition.

Try doing that on your own.

The AZM meetings are also a good place to meet other modelers as well as having a say in what goes on inside MAAC.

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto and Ditto!

Nothing erks me more then hearing someone who spends $5,000 - $10,000 a year on a hobby complain so much about a $75.00 charge. Shut the UP or GET OUT if it bothers you so much!

Re: Kudo's To Maac!!!!!!

If you are lucky, you might get in a round of golf for your $75.00. It's human nature to gripe about fees. I used to laugh my head off while I was still involved with I.P.S.C. Hearing a guy with 5 grand worth of gear on his belt whining about a $20.00 match fee, after a 3 hour drive......People are sure funny......
