I have two ST G90's, both run great. Take the time to break them in (they're ringed pistons in an iron liner) and they will last a long time, too.

I have also owned O.S. engines and had great satisfaction from them, as well. Still running the O.S. .25BB F that I bought in 1985.

Personally, I feel that the O.S. would be the best (also more expensive) bet for a newbie wanting an engine to run well straight out of the box.

Tom I have used Tigers since the early 80's both in pylon racing and sport flying, mostly Tiger G & S .40'S abc and ran them on 15% fuel, never had a problem. Now I have been using a 60, 2 75's and a 90 all on 15% with not a problem. one of the 75's is a China Mfg. it still runs as good as the others. Over the years alot of LHS didn" stock the Tigers, just OS's. FOR THE MONEY GO TIGERS. KEN ORANGEVILLE

Re: super tiger g75 or OS 75ax

I am with Super Tiger all the way. I have 40's, 60's and 90's, both ringed and without ring.

I think they are a very well made engine for the price.

Most important for me is the spray bar adjustment, where you can adjust the spray bar angle if need be.

Normally they are easy to set-up at break in.

Most of mine I ran two tanks on the test rig, then in the plane.

I rarely adjust the engines after installing in the plane.

The ringed engines can be rejuvinated with a new ring and a light liner honing.

However, always do an internal inspection and cleaning before first start-up.

I have never given in to the more expensive engines, Super Tigers are best.

Re: super tiger g75 or OS 75ax

I ran my first model aircraft engine in the late forty's. Go with the manufactures that have been around for a long time. I have came across a couple of "johnny come lately outfits" that one size of their engines runs like crap. I am not an OS fan, They are just a good engine. The last time I flew my Veco .61 I had three guys come over after I finished wringing out the A/C and asked "what engine is that" . The performance of the A/C and engine is directly related to the nut holding the stick. There are many little signs the engine sends you as to how it is running, Learn them. As for the Super tiger, Buy it they are great.
