Re: ??? help????

Actually, it sounds like it's time to down-size the herd before you start adding to it.

In terms of the planes, all are reasonable flyers if you are a good builder and flyer. The Corsair does have a reputation ("ensign eliminator") and the wing configuration makes for trickier building and flying. Having said that, the Corsairs that I've seen flying were well0-built and flown by experienced pilots (three years active flying and up, including aerobatcis and scale). SInce these are warbirds, tehy all will tend to have heavy wing-loadings that will snake-bite you if you get behind them in flight or the power-curve.

Re: ??? help????

That term "Ensign Eliminator" was not so much to denote flying qualities, but the difficulty in successfully trying to plant it straight ahead on a carrier deck. Not only could you hide the entire invasion force AND their ships behind that long nose, the early L/G design created its own problems once you got the wheels on the deck.

Modifying both the gear design and approach patterns helped a lot.

Re: ??? help????

I think that it comes down to your ability to fly.

The Super Chipmunk is a fantastic flier with a proven track record - it will make you happy.

The War birds - are a different beast altogether. They are heavier, faster and unforgiveing. Great planes IF you know how to fly them, they are not for novices.

Figure out what you want to do and shop accordingly.
Life is either a daring adventure...
...or nothing.
