I purchased a CRRC Pro Gf26i engine that will be going into my new Neuiport 17, 1/4 scale WWI aircraft. I haven't run it yet but every indication that I have gotten from owners of this little beauty, say they run awsome. So, I'm looking forward to getting this project done and flying.

I too have tried various anti-vibration mounts over the years and it honestly caused me nothing but frustration! Planes that are designed for gas engines are built and reinforced to take the vibrations of the engine and absorb them. I found that in most cases, the engine vibrated worse with the rubber mountings and really shake things up. As was previously said, cracked cowls, airframe stress, even servo failure seemed to happen far above the norm when fiddling with anti-vibration mounts.

I too now only hard mount all my gas engines and have a whole lot less problems without them. I know the thinking...How can it be worse with them...its just gotta work better with the rubber mounts! But NO, it DOESN"T! I watched a friend who had rubber mounted his big Quadra engine to an Ace Big Bingo start up his plane and within about 3 minutes it had shaken the thing so bad that the fuse was cracked all over the place and his cowl was chewed to pieces. I suppose someone, somewhere has tried it and got it working but I've not heard of it with any great success.

Best to just leave well enough alone and avoid all the frustrations. I would much rather fly than to be constantly trying to work out problems that could have been avoided in the first place. Happy flying my friend!

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the imput,no rubber for me. I think you will like your little 26cc. It like`s lot`s of prime. It almost seem`s like you have to make an effort to flood it. Let me know how it works for you. Good luck.

Thanks again.
