Re: old school chopper on Kijiji

It's not a home build, but a highly modified kit. I just can't remember the name. Anyway, the body is not original. The original motor was O&R gas, not nitro. The paddles are replaced with "cans" That was a mod a few people were trying in the early 70's

If it were original, it may have some antique value but I don't think it's worth $100 as is.

Thanks for the info Jbajkor, It would have been cool if it was still original. That sucker looks heavy too.

Re: old school chopper on Kijiji

The tail rotor seems to have an ajustable pitch system but the main rotor seems to lack any ajustable pitch system and the blades seem to be just flat pieces of wood with no airfoil shape. I wonder what the big springs are for? Looks like Igor Sikorski's first prototype. Good conversation piece if nothing else. ken

What's you think Al ? Would it be a good one for me. Maybe it won't break as easy as the T-Rex

Re: old school chopper on Kijiji

Don, it'd make a nice weathervane for RIA. that is until someone set it on fire.

It's a real dinosaur in that it's bones are on display and held together with wire and springs.

and my grandson says I know dinosaurs.
