Re: Fuel Tank Leak

I had the same thing happen to me on my new "Something Extra" I had a split seem in a tank. I used K2r, a product that is used for cleaning spots from rugs. It is also used by marinas to take spots of oil from sails and covers etc. Don't know who sells the stuff, I got mine from the Internet.

Re: Fuel Tank Leak

This topic comes up from time to time. several years ago K2R was banned from sale in Canada due to enviromental concerns, I was told.

I now use what has to the same material under a different name. It is called "Sprayway #830 Spot Lifter". The downside is that it is available only from industrial suppliers. I get it from "Fastenall" a supplier of fasteners and associated tools. They have outlets in most cities. The last time I purchased it the store had a $10.00 min charge so I purchased two cans, about $8.00 each.

Failing all of that press some cat litter down in there. Leave it for a few days and blow it out.

Just do not tell the cat. He/She will think that is where they have to go!!!

Re: Fuel Tank Leak

The ultimate solution, of course, is to put an electric motor in there!

Re: Fuel Tank Leak

a layer of baking soda works very well if left overnight....absorbs almost all the oil out of the wood. A layer of about 1/4" will do it.....Ron
