Help required for Multiplex Cularis

Im starting a build on the multiplex cularis. Ive never built a glider before.
Dont really even understand that concept of having four servo's on the wings.
I know two are your ailerons. That part I understand.....The other two can be used for flaps or crows. Those are the two i dont understand. What type of rx would i use on my DX7 for the four servos on the wings. What kind of setup would I do and how?

Re: Help required for Multiplex Cularis

If its split you would have flaps and ailerons y harness you ailerons and put to channel 1 er whatever it is for ailerons. Than use a reversing y harness or mix two channels for your flap channel. I donno if that will help at all.

Re: Help required for Multiplex Cularis kind of helps now. I can use my 6100 then. Just dont know how to setup the mixing I guess. So my left and right aileron will be on a Y harness. I can understand that now.
Its the reversing Y harness im not familiar with.
Thanks for the info.

Re: Help required for Multiplex Cularis

I don't have a lot of time right this minute but here are a few pointers:

- Read this thread:

I know, it's kind of long but there are important notes about modifications where the kit lacks in either design or strength

- I'm using all ports on a 7 channel receiver (AR7000), and using 5 flight modes on the X9303. I forget, is there a glider mode in the DX7? If not, you will have a lot of mixing to do (flaps only, crow configuration). The biggest change is that the ESC will be on channel 7. You should be able to put the throttle on a switch (maybe a 3 pos switch), as I don't think you can assign the throttle stick to throttle for some flight modes and throttle stick to crow configuration in other flight modes on the DX7.

- If you are not using a motor, but you are using a tow release servo then you still need 7 servos. I would not recommend using any Y connectors, that would make this aircraft VERY difficult to setup properly (you need subtrim at each servo).

- JR has great articles on how to setup gliders (at least for their radios):

- I just love this plane. With no thermals I get a 5 min glide off a 30 sec climb.

- Always think & plan 2 steps ahead of the instructions. Dry each step of the way before gluing. Before applying glue, think about what will need to move and what won't. You will need about 2 oz of medium or thick CA. The slower the better for the wings & fuselage joining.
