Vancouver Area Fields?

OK you West Coast RCCers who can point me to some local fields in the Vancouver area?

I am in town on business and will be here over the weekend. I have to work Saturday but Sunday is free and if the weather is nice I would like to visit a field or two. If I can't fly at least I can watch.

I have wheels so mobility is not a problem.... just point the way.

I'm not a member of this club, but its a fine club.
Sadly, they are in the middle of packing up, still flying I think.
Forced to move.
Public golf course right beside the field w/ a very nice cafe/lounge.

Sunshine is here! ( hurry or you'll miss it)

Re: Vancouver Area Fields?

If you want to take a nice 95 minute ferry ride head over to Vancouver Island. There is a scale rally at the Parksville club this weekend. Usually some pretty nice planes show up. The field is about 20 minutes north from the Departure Bay ferry terminal. Details here: By the way, expect to pay about $130 return trip for the ferry if you are bringing your car! Island living can get expensive.
From the manual of Air Traffic Control - Definitons: "Separation is that condition which exists when two or more aircraft fail to collide."

Re: Vancouver Area Fields?

Perhaps a great reason to check out the MAAC site!
If you're up for an 8 hour round trip, we'll show you how to fly properly over here in the North Okanagan

Here's another thought, the Princeton Jet Rally is a short jog from you. Probably a 3 hour round trip!

Re: Vancouver Area Fields?

There is another sport club operating in the Tsawassen area, not sure where the site is, maybe it is also on the MAAC site.

Re: Vancouver Area Fields?

Hey Jimmy, wish I woul have known you were coming.
I have been very busy with family issues the last 2 years, and haven't really been flying.
How are things going for you?
