Our first race of the season is currently underway.
Full Throttle Raceway in Ransomville NY saw droves of campers and racers roll in yesterday afternoon and this morning preparing for what is going to be a very exciting year of racing.
The weather forecast called for some rain yesterday which fell as anticipated.
the track got a good soaking and volunteers such as chewy and others were out late last night sweeping off water, and this morning grooming the track.
The rain last night and mix of sun and cloudy periods today will make for premium track conditions. Dust will be low, temperatures very comfortable, and visiblity unimpeded.
As 9 am rolls around the track is readying to open with some practice.
FTR race director and owner Jason Fuller is a master event director who along with the FTR race crew has put a lot of blood and tears into the preparations for the 2009 event. The plan for the day is to run 3 qualifiers.
Usually Time is of concern as we like to squeeze 3 full quals into daylight but FTR is equipped with a full lighting system and racers will be presented with the challenge of a qualifier under the lights after dark.
This was an early moring photo of the damp track and pits.
If you were there there are two things you'd hear.
1. Sasquatch churning dirt. (chewy)
2. The sound of Abiye's nitro motor being broken it. (oh yeah it isn't a race if abiye isn't breaking in a motor!)

Re: Glorcs 2009 Race 1 FTR
Things are moving along at FTK
The latest report is that they have completed two full rounds of qualifying.
They are starting their third and will be aiming at a forth under the lights.
I've added some pictures below of our newest class addition. The Traxxas Slash Corr Class.
This is a spec class meaning that all the kits are run stock and the same. This class is GREAT! for coming out to have some old fashioned fun. RTR's ranging in at $250+/- gets you on the road. This is a one day event that run on Race Day 1 at each glorcs event in 2009. Qualifiers start at 5 minute, and 10-15 minute mains.
Here are some Pics from the first round of qualifying today
We also had the opportunity to punch out some 1/5 scale monsters today.
To groom the wet area's we unleashed these gas powered beasts to roll out and test their skill on an 1/8 scale track. To our suprise.. they ate it up.. no problem.
As the 3rd round gets underway we hear now that their will be a 1/5 demo later under the lights. Stay tuned for more.

Re: Glorcs 2009 Race 1 FTR
The track was killer.. but it was a tough weekend to keep it that way.
Saturday night at the end of qualifying the skies opened and poured.
It rain hard but come morning
Blue skies and sun!.
However the race crew and volunteers from the pits were out working earlier to groom the track to get racing started.
The mains kicked off without a hitch.
Last check Truggy B was starting
TQ's after 4 yesterday
Monster Truck - MARTIN PETRE 8/5:24.233 (Rnd 2)
Truggy - DAVE HENRY 9/5:06.376 (Rnd 3)
Buggy - DAVE HENRY 9/5:14.991 (Rnd 2)
Slash - GREG SNIEFF 6/5:10.824 (Rnd 1)
E-Monster Truck - Kevin Nolan
Dave Henry pulled TQ from George so it will be interesting to see who will challenge Dave in the Truggy A. There are 3 bump ups this season a change over last which was 2. So we'll be interested to see what transpires.
Congratulations to Greg Snieff (sponsored by Fields hobby center, k&d action photo) in Slash, Greg also runs in Truggy. I am awaiting the Main results for Traxxas Slash Class to see if he can hold out. But hey with K&D as his sponsor he's bound to have some great shots.
K&D photo are out this weekend at FTR making people famous.
I am looking very much forward to seeing their pics at conclusion of the event.
I've been bothering Fozy all weekend to sneak some photos away from them to get on the net in advance.
Our official video master "MSP" Calvin Mercer is on scene this weekend as well. Lots of racing to go.
As official affiliate RC Canada will get some of the breaking photos posted for review.
Thanks again to RC Canada for hosting our race details and coverage.
