Re: Dash for Cash

Hi All,
Another Great Time !

My adrenaline level is almost back to normal...HeHeHe

Another Iceman/Cobble Hills Win. (I really like to fly against/with the pilots who have flown more scale combat than anyone else in the World ! )

Some of my Pilots Notes;

-'Woody' my .15 P-51 Mustang got 'balsa crunched' within the last few seconds of the first Round. I thought that coro could do more damage ! DARN...Woody is repairable ! I'll send it back to my friend who likes building/covering balsa rather than flying...(it will take him another 5 yrs !) There is confetti inside the LE wing sheeting and 'full' cockpit details to explode, Yet ! HeHeHe

-the 'Griffon' OS FX JohnnyG Spitfire. (Mk XIV-XXI ?) I think we got the latest of the Spits that flew WW2 operationally. (sent to Burma after VE Day.) I finally got to use the Sig WW2 bubble canopy I have had for 30 yrs !
Buzz framed it up and let me finish it. (Thanks for the photos Buzz, why can't you post some of your planes?)
Took me 'a 24' to get the guts in it with fartin around with the in cowl Bisson muffler/pop off wing tether system/wing fillets.
Test flew it in primer without the canopy. Flew great.
Another '24' (and 3oz.) to paint/add details. Buzz did the vinyl decals that really set it off. 2.875lbs.
Test flight was just before the Match.
The rest is History ! For the first time I am Top Humber Hawk !
Eventually, I will increase the throttle ATV so the Mighty Griffon's carb opens more than 3/4... HeHeHe

Looking forward to the next Match.

Thanks to the Cobble Hills Gang for another Great Match !

Take care,
Have fun,
Maac 6437
Unabashed Combat Team

P.S. 'Technically'... I only added balsa to JohnnyG's design (fin area) Buzz did the coro building, so.... I still have not built with coro!
I will eventually learn to to be smart ! The JohnnyG Spitfire flys really great.
