Re: Thanks for your help "over 55's"

I also am in debt to the "over 55s" that I have flown with and have recieved help and guidance from here on RCC. They always have some good sound advice and tips for making ones' modelling experiance a pleasureable one.

Re: Thanks for your help "over 55's"

Hi - my tuppence worth! I guess I've overshot that point by just about two decades but whenever I sit down and mull over a plan or 'imagineer' another project and most never get much further than that nowadays, I find I'm drawing on a lifetime of sage advice and example from untold numbers of modellers, most of whom were fifty or older at the time.
One just does not live long enough to find it all out for yourself so it's downright stupid not to listen and observe what others are doing, and most of those over 55 did not have the dubious advantage of ARFs! Too many names to list but from my mentor Hal Snow of fifty years ago to recent acquaintances, I've built up my approach!
I've had my fling with photography but modelling has prevailed since just before balsa became available after WWII! Ever tried to fashion a chuckie wing from 3/16" pine scrap? Never flew well - no-one to show me how those early days! I guess that's more like four-pence worth, sorry!
