I was there watching the King Cat fly with the Evojet engine. My observations:

1) The engine runs higher EGT temps than I have seen before - this may be something to do with the internal EGT probe.

2) The sound of the engine starting is unique

3) The sound of the engine accelerating is unique

4) The sound of the engine at full throttle is unique

Basically I haven't heard or seen anything like it.

If appears to be very powerfull. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the 44 lb numbers were verified but knowing how the Germans work, they will allways advertise on the conservative side. I see you are a dealer for EvoJet in Aus so go ahead and hit up the factory for a "demo" sample and test it yourself.

Re: Kingcat was a little crazy this weekend!

I actually have some EvoJet engines on the way and will most definetely be running thrust tests soon here at sea level and temps around 25C (it is winter here). Iam curious as it will dictate which airframe to use for a demo aircraft... plan at the moment is to install in the new Fei Bao 1/7 scale F-15, the extra grunt wont hurt I spose, this is a seriously big bird ; )

Jeremy, yes I had a look at your video... Was the Kingcat flying flat out? how much does it weigh wet??
