I recently had a mishap with my T-28 resulting in extensive nose surgery. All is back together except I am not happy with the apparent huge amount of down thrust and right side thrust. I believe that when purchased the these angles are set by the manufacturer at the engine mouting plate, NOT the engine mount. I am wondering if my several front end mishaps has crushed the foam somewhat. Does anyone know the correct values for the down and side thrust?

Re: Parkzone T-28

Yes Tony,

It is 3 degrees right thrust and three degrees down thrust.
Just have a couple cold ones and glue it crooked Ha

Ps . Did you hit a tree when you were looking at the girls??

Ha Ha Ha, my reputation preceeds me. Trouble is at my age looking is as good as it gets. By the way I am nearly finished building the Four Fourty. Just covering to do.

Re: Parkzone T-28

If you're looking at the girls while flying a plane, definitely something is wrong.....
LOL... I've reached the point where rather than saying "all women are my sister", I'm now chanting the mantra "all women are my grand-daughters....."

If you've got a incidence meter, you might be able to figure out the current thrust angles.

A rough way approximating that is to set the plane up on the bench so that the wing is horizontal, then do some measurements from the workbench.

Bit of high-school trigometry will give you the down and side thrust angles. (sin, sosine, tangent and triangle ratios.....)

1) Downthrust -- prop vertical and measuring the difference in the tips from a reference point on the line formed by the centerline of the fuselage.
2) Sidethrust -- prop horizontal and measured against a line at right angles to the plane's centerline.

Also, flip the prop 180 degrees to determine if there's any difference between the tips. Shouldn't be but you never know if the prop is slightly bent.....

Trick is for downthrust, you do need the incidence angle for the wing so that you can determine the original downthrust relative to the wing.

Alternate might be to simply order a new fuselage from the manufacturer or importer.
