Cool Model covered in G-10 ? News to me this product.

I just picked up the August issue of Sport RC Flyer magazine and read how the guy at TopGun flying the Northrop N9MB flying wing built his fantastic model. Its covered in G-10 a glass/ressin bendable sheet that you can buy in various size/thickness. Looks like it would be easy to use like using thin sheets of ply.

So is this stuff just hitting the market? Does anyone have experience with using it? Wow felt like I just woke up from a long nap and missed the last 5 years in time. Am I alone?

Re: Model covered in G-10 ? News to me this product.

I have some that I am using to strengthen my TF Corsair in sections, Like the top of the Rudder. A pain to cut the shapes but but beside that not bad to work with.

Also just used to repair a wing tip on my Eagle 2 and laminated a piece of balsa on it to make thicker and worked god their too so far.

The link above that Kargon listed is where I bought mine. Very reasonable price and ships in a express post size envelope, my sheets were 8X11.

Hope this helps ya.

G10 has been used for many years to make PC boards, the thin stuff is very flexible and strong.

It's made in a hydraulic press between steel plates.
