I have been getting IMS needles once a week for my sholder problem. They told me it would hurt like H the next day and they where not kidding. It is something like accupuncture but they go in deeper and it is supposed to release the tendens that are involved. All I know is they where not kidding about the hurt problem after.
This has put some things on the back burner but I have done some work on the cutter. I mounted the 3/4" acme rod with bearings as you can see by the pictures. One end is turned down to 1/2" for the bearing and then to 3/8" for the motor. The other end has a bearing cap and is also 1/2". I threaded both ends 1/2 x 20NF and made lock nuts also for adjusting the bearings. The motor end is solid and the other end with the cap is adjustable. I have 1/8" movement on the brg. cap for set up. Next I am going to make the Z axis to fit on this. I ordered some 1 1/2" x 10" square bearing bronze(954) that I am going to turn the nuts for. That should keep me busy for a bit also.
Keep the shiny side up and the wheels down
