years ago i was thinking of starting a business of teaching heli pilots to fly etc.. i was a rep for a major us company... which had no bearing on having maac insurance.
the minute money changes hands from instructor or student for services Maac is no longer present for either individual period. or the filed you fly at.
after researching for liability insurance and you will need way more than 5 million and your home owners wont cover you either if its a commercial venture.
the costs of the insurance alone was gonna run in the neighbourhood of 100.00 an hour to the student based on a modest amount of teaching and that barely covered the costs of up keep and fuel etc....
even if you help someone out and they give you a gallon of fuel that can be taken as charging for your time so be very careful in how you approach this.....
