Re: ARF experience - Escapade
Well......maiden flight - excellent. Landed nicely, made a few adjustments and flew again. Very nice, good aerobatic ability. I had changed to dual airelon servers the night before. I was using a OS .40LA that I had previously. Plenty of power.
Went out again this morning. First flight was great, stable, smooth, really fun. Landed, checked the fuel, took it up again. Did some more manuevers and was having a ball. Then, on an inverted pass, I got disoriented...the plane was turning away from me, and the sun was a bit in my eyes. In a split second, I couldn't tell if it was inverted and moved the stick the wrong way..... Lawn dart, full speed. I salvaged the engine, radio, and all but one servo...but the Escapade is now balsa confetti. Very, very sad day, after all the work getting it ready.
