Evolution 45GX2

I am looking for a new gas engine for my 27%.

The 45GX2 looks interesting, however at 699.99 without muffler it's a lot of money.

Don't mind spending it but only if it is a good engine, so if would appreciate your comments.

Re: Evolution 45GX2

YakPak, they are very very smooth and quite strong for their displacement..They will almost turn with the 50cc engines..Some say they will out turn them but I didn't see it.

I run one for quite some time and really liked it..About the only con would be resale value..Even though used engines are selling very low, the DA's still bring the most in when used...If you don't mind that, which I don't, I would say jump in they are a great little engine
Movin' on up to the top-shelf..3W!!!

Re: Evolution 45GX2

My concern with this set-up is too much engine for the plane.

The plane is a Goldberg Yak 54, 77"WS, should come in around 14 1/2 lbs.

It didn't fly well with my Saito 180, not enough power for me, however at 5.2HP I wonder if the 45GX2 is too much power.

What do you guys think.
