Take a bit of advice here…. Don't be beating yourself up! She left you for someone different.. not better!
Life is a lot like sailing. You don’t always have fair winds, but you learn to cope with the bad because, the good winds will come, and when they do, you forget about the bad. Tack off in a different direction and you will be surprised at the result…. bert

Cool Re: Aircraft Modeler

All of us have a few ups and down but none as hard as losing a partner to another. You will feel very low while this is still fresh, for how long will depend on you. Its what you think of yourself and what you want to do after will determine how your state of mind will be for consist of tough decisions;to go on or to give hold on or to let stay or to leave....what comforting though is you still have a whole life ahead of you whatever age you may be..and once you made that choice to live ...laugh and to love again will you feel that what happened to you was a blessing after all.......this is from one who went through the same life mtnflyr......if you have kids, you owe it to them to be the father you are....if not you still need to be good person you have always been.

Re: Aircraft Modeler

Hey Mtnflyr,

We are all a lucky bunch to be a part of this community. The guys before me are far more eloquent and have said most of it. Resist the urge to turn inward and reach out to your friends, club mates, whoever. She may have your stuff, but your friends have your back!

I've been where you are and trust me, you'll get over it. Mine ran off with a friend and as far as I'm concerned, they were made for each other. It is part of my revenge on both of them.

The rest of my revenge plan circles around being the very best that I can be for me and rmy kids. They will learn what it is to be a man and stand tall with strength and courage to face the world and it's tribulations. That is a gift for them.

The gift for you is that this is an opportunity! I know it sounds like BS, but sometimes things are meant to be. Brother, you honestly made a mistake when you married her. Now is the chance to learn from that mistake and you'll be better equipped to find the true woman for you. Someone who will stick by YOU!

I have to warn you, depression is a downward spiral. You'll have to fight for the drive to do the things you love. But that is what you must do. Give your brain and your heart a break once in awhile!

Keep your chin up, my friend. Even when it gets rough try to stay happy; You never know who is admiring your smile!

Re: Aircraft Modeler

True 'nuff. When my first wife left, she took everything: I was left with a mortgage, a bunch of maxed out credit cards, a sleeping bag, and my tools. I woke up the next morning, looking across the bare floor at the bare windows, and thought, "This is the end of the beginning, or the beginning of the end...", it turned out to be both. I had terrible times after that, I had far greater times after that; something to do with life, and how little control one has over it!
