New to this myself, but am big into modding cars, and we use Brake Clean on all sorts of different stuff.

Is it safe to use "brake Clean" on R/C's?

It is strong, but evaporates real fast,

Non-chlorinated brake cleaner works ok. Be careful though, over time it will etch and dull any aluminum parts. I learned this lesson the hard way with my FG Evo Also it will make plastic brittle and prone to breakage by drying it out.

Now I use Simple Green (full strength) for cleanup and leave the brake cleaner for....well the brakes on my Evo and for general de-greasing on my nitro gear.
