Pain Removing Tips

Thought I would take the time to drop a couple of "building tips" on you, that may help to remove a developing headache. I used them both yesterday, and felt less violent after.

#1 - If your CA glue bottle tip is all clogged up with dried CA; put it in a small, closed jar of acetone for about an hour. The dried CA will become gummy and be easy to remove.

#2 - When trying to secure a stabalizer squarely on the fuselage, use a telescopic (from an old transmitter) antenna to measure equal distances from wingtip to stab. Its easier than trying to read exactly the marks on a yardstick or tape measure.

I've spent most of my money and time on model airplanes, mean women, and beer. All the rest was just a waste.

Re: Pain Removing Tips

Good tips, I'll have to try the transmiter antena one, sounds easyer then pinning a sting, because I can never find any string in this house. I think my dogs eat the stuff.

OF COURSE!! I should have thunk of that! I worked in the chem lab/ laboratory instrument environment for over 34 years and should have had that one as a no brainer. Good stuff!

Re: Pain Removing Tips

I've been using a cocktail of acetone and 30% nitro fuel to remove CA from metal and certain plastic parts. Looks like new without the scars from scraping and the anguish.
