Thunder Power 610c display issue

If anyone has the issue with the Thunder Power 610C where the display fades out when it gets warm, sometimes so you can't even read it.

Here are your alternatives.

1. Return it and Thunder power will fix it under warranty, it is a know issue with certain lot numbers
2. Upgrade the display your self (a little soldering is required), In my case I chose this option because a) I wanted a better quality display so I wouldn't have to worry about the same issue happening again. b) living in Canada it was cheaper than paying the shipping cost to return under warranty. If you choose option b here is what you need.

1. A soldering iron
2. A desoldering tool
3. some solder
4. A new display, I used this one from Newhaven Display I purchased from MOUSER Electronics. Cost is $11.76
Part Number 763-0216K1Z-FSB-FBW Manufacturer part Number NHD-0216K1Z-FSB-FBW-L

The only modification I had to do was to trim the supports for the display so that they were the right height. Since they are just peices of fiberglass I used side cutters to cut them a tad shorter.

Hope this helps someone.

Re: Thunder Power 610c display issue

I have this charger and have not had any issues with it...Just wondering if anyone has charged a 6S 5000mah battery with it and how does it handle the bigger batteries?

Re: Thunder Power 610c display issue

The 610C will handle that battery but keep in mind that it's max wattage is 80w so for 22v it can only charge at 3.6amps which is less than 1C so it might take 1.5 to 2 hours to fully charge.
