I need help...

I try flying my HBK3 yesterday ignoring the fact that it is a little windy. flew it about I'd say 12 Ft. in the air when a strong gust of wind catches the bottom of my bird and flipped it upside down slamming to the ground. No biggie, destroyed the blades, one of the small push rods, flybar and landing skid (for some reason). Went online and ordered the upgraded versions of the damaged parts. I saw parts that are "nice" to have and figured "when in rome...." ordered MMetal upgrades for the main rotor head and a few tail rotor upgrades aswell. Saw some nice CF blades and ordered them too. Long story short, I ended up spending about $160 for my total purchase when the broken parts probably only cost about $35 the most. There is something seriously wrong with me...LOL!!

Re: I need help...

That scenario sounds familiar to me! Absolutely, normal...

Good luck with your repairs. Remember to re-check your mechanical and radio set up once the repairs have been completed.

Re: I need help...

I would recommend staying away from installing all the metal upgrades and C/F blades until you get relatively comfortable flying. Unfortunately, they may look nice, but the woodies and plastics break rather than transfer energy further into the mechanicals and frame, actually reducing the amount of damage and cost to repair.

By the way, I'm a mod on another very good source for K3 info. PM me if interested.
