It has been said that if you get a flight in on New Years Day you will have a fantastic flying season. Challenge.............lets see how many get out and just do it Fly anything you want..........hoping everyone gets out, even for one flight.
A photo would be good too

Merry Christmas

Re: good luck

The Kelowna Ogopogo R/C group usually get about 60 members out to enjoy a bowl of Chilli, Buns, Coffee and Cake. About 20 of this crowd get in a few flights as welll.

Re: good luck

A number of years ago I went out a few minutes after midnight with my GWS stick, in the -30 temp and howling wind.

AFter a pretty hairy flight (well, I guess you could call it a flight) at the school yard just down the street, I went back to my house and went to bed.

This year my band is playing a local bar NYE... doint think I will have a chance to get out flying, and Jan 1 will probably be sleeping it off...

Re: good luck

A couple of years ago my friend Walter Innes and I got in a few flights on New Year's morning with his little GWS Tiger Moth at a school yard - there was hardly any snow on the ground! Then retired to a hot Timmie's! Won't soon forget that!

Re: good luck

I'll be going if for no other reason than to:

1)get my vicarious thrills watching someone else fly and
2)putting my dead birds in the barrel to get "warmed up".

Man, they make a lot of smoke when they get toasty.

Re: good luck

At Ajax, one of our members and his wife setup an outside burner and make a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup. Worth going out just for that

Re: good luck

The Bramalea Club have "Frozen Finger Fun Fly" every January 1st. That is one thing i really miss since moving away from there.

I wonder if Murray will be the first to crash again this Year?

Re: good luck

We try and get out, weather permitting, for a few flights and good fun. Looks like the weather may be in our favour again this year. Maybe Wayne V. will have another giant hunk of styrofoam for us to wonder at again this year. Happy New Year everyone.
