can anyone explain what happened beyond my obvious screw up...the ec3 leads on one of my batteries (turnigy 1800 3s from hobby king) dont have the blue casing on the make sure you get red to red black to black on esc (i just heat shrinked them individually). my hurry i plugged black to red red to black, heard that devistating zap...and new i screwed speed control would be toast....right., and often you screw up the battery too,,,,ok. So i check the battery at least, to see if that survived. my meter doesnt even register the no battery hooked up....ok. so i think "lets check the plane" although i know speed control would be toast. to my surprise, with a new battery, the plane fires up fine! so what happened? i have always read that the esc will be blown automatically? i do have a seperate castle bec hooked up, but that shouldn't protect me from my stupidity? (nothing should, i know) Do you think the turnigy battery had a polarity or such type of circuit? and left my esc unscathed?.....anyone got any ideas???.....anyone?.......Bueller?.....Buelller?

The batteries have little tabs between the cells to connect them. You probably fried those, that is why you are getting no reading. I had one go on me, and it mad a little zap noise with a small puff of smoke.

Once you let the smoke out it is impossible to put it back in.
