My 1/5 spitfire requires no elevator trim. Throttle controls sink rate. With flaps deployed I come in high, sink down with 1/4 throttle, then flair a few feet off the deck. Never chop throttle to idle till wheels are on the ground. Every landing is a 2 wheel greaser.

Flaps are most necessary on my old 1/4 scale Yellow Cap 10 B. Just doesn't want to slow without them. If I remember reading, after about 7 degrees flaps, the lift stays where it is and the drag begins. Also flaps are very speed sensitive. At high speed and the flaps are lowered, you need a lot of down elev. to counteract the lift. As the plane slows down there is a point where you will get neutral elev. As it slows down more, close to the stall speed, then you need a bit of up elev. As said above, you'll need throttle on all the way to the ground. Of course every plane is different.
Tried for my kamikazi pilots licence. Flunked the test.
