Re: Another followed me home..... Thanks for the identification in make of the covers. Noo need to go out of your way to look for them for me. They did come off sucessfully, and I will reuse them. I think they kina do look neat. I had read that there was an accessory kit available for this plane that had covers of so sort I believe, and was thinking that these wer them, but apparently not. But thanks again for your help. |

Re: Another followed me home..... Those leg covers were sold by Robart. I'll have to have a boo as it has been a LONG time. I may still have some of that stuff in my spares if you need any. |

Re: Another followed me home..... Please disregard the above post. Got them off. Once I cut the glue that was also used to hold them together..... |

Re: Another followed me home..... So I have a little question. My Kougar landing gear has these plastic pieces attached to teh wire. Does anyone here happen to know how one might be able to get these off for repairs to the wing? I already popped off a cap on the ends, as well as removed 2 small screws from each 'cover'. The part that is getting to me is the two 'rings' near the bottom. The upper one (blue) slides down no problem, but the lower one (green) does not seem to want to move. Any help would be greatly appreciated in the removal of these. I have to do some minor repairs to the wing in general and is why I would like to remove them. Thank you. |

Re: Another followed me home..... Just stay out of the throttle and it becomes a pretty gentle plane to fly. As you're ready for it, push the stick. |

Re: Another followed me home..... Well, the engine for this plane has arrived here safely today. Now that I have it, I am starting to think this plane may just be a bit quick. The engine is as stated, a Magnum Pro 45 with a modified muffler. The main part is from an OS FSR 40, with a travel size mousse can muffler with brass tip all JB Welded together. I am hoping that the JB Weld will hold up to the heat. |

Re: Another followed me home..... I'll add to the Sig Kougar praise. I had one done up in a Snowbird scheme back in the 80's, sorry no pics. If I remember correctly I had an Enya 53 FS on mine. GO ENYA! |

Re: Another followed me home..... Glad to hear that they were somewhat popular, and flew well. Now you have me also a bit scared. I am planning on putting a Magnum Pro 45 on this bird thinking it would not be too fast. After seeing the comment of the FSR 40 making it go like stink, I am a bit worried. I guess I will have to learn throttle management..... |
