MAAC flying requires just identification in craft.
Registration is for flying "outside of the MAAC exemption".
You can do MAAC flying under the exemption "Off site".

You only have to register your aircraft with Transport Canada if you aren't a MAAC member or you don't plan to follow the MAAC safety code and rules.

Re: Drone License and Registration

So no need to submit anything if just fly in MAAC's approved sites. Just your own label inside the plane. Thanks.

Re: Drone License and Registration

Guys, shall we register all the flying vessels even if we fly them at a MAAC approved runway? Or that requirement is just for those flying in private lands, etc.

A I understand it...
Renew your MAAC membership.
Then you can fly with the landowners permission (in this case yourself)
As a MAAC member, you don/t have to register your aircraft, but for aircraft over 250 grams, you do have to have a tag or label affixed that, as a minimum, includes:
a. Member's MAAC number, and
b. MAAC website address, and
c. MAAC office phone number “or” members home/cell phone number.
As a MAAC Member, you don't have to get an RPAS pilot license.

Re: Drone License and Registration

I fly at home and I did the basic online exam last week, on the first try, with success. If you want to pass it, be prepared with the regulations beside you. There is a lot of non-RC questions like meteorology, airport maps, radio-communication, airplane terminology. The exam is probably easier for 1/1 pilot than a Rc pilot. I had plenty of time for searching on internet on another window, average 3 minutes/question. The model registration is very basic for ARF or kit without serial number. It's easy to use the same number for different planes.

I had been out of the hobby about the same number of years & the good news is that you no longer need to license your transmitter like we did way back then. The bad news is it may not be legal to use in today's world. SEE

Vern,
Take a look at this thread. https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/sho...d.php?t=579127
I have put all the links together so it will be easy to find.
If you this much far, it may be easy for you to go basic TC basic operations. Even if you register just one of your airplanes, who will bother to check?
