Looks great in that "old timer" style paint scheme. Well done.

Well, it is what I would say "finished". Radio install complete, windows glued on and balanced. I ran the Saito .30 a bit this afternoon in the garage (while it was snowing outside, lol). The Kraft radio is set up not bad.

Because I moved the servos up as far ahead as I could, I have the tank up higher than optimal position. And further back than ideal. In another old timer, I had the same situation and the engine would lean out too much when the nose pointed upwards.

Solution? Easy - I am using a Cline regulator to feed the engine, and the muffler pressure tap and a one way valve to pressurize the tank. Works very well. I wish these were still available.

Next thing will be to wait for the weather to get better, the filed to open up, and get a test flight on the aircraft.

So, I was working on the Junior 60 this afternoon.. just mouting the servos, making up push-rods and figuring what to use, and where to place the fuel tank. Its going fine, might get finished up tomorrow as I'm off with the kids.

The funny thing is, while I was searching my stash for a 4 oz tank, I found two sets of 3 3/4" Williams Brothers "old timey" wheels. They are pneumatic rubber on plastic hubs with a cap. They look pretty decent and I'm going to swap them out.

You can still buy them directly from Trexler Andrew. I know they are too big but they even have 6 inch.

Thanks AJ. Didn't know that but now I've been enlightened. So much to learn in this SAM world. I do really like Old Timers so it's good to understand the lingo too.

Trexler’s are lightweight inflatable rubber tires on wooden hubs.

OK Bill you've done it again. I guess I'm not old enough for this SAM era lingo. What are Trexlers?
