Re: Club/ flightline etiquette

Y’all may want to refresh everyone’s memory by reading over all the safety committee documents related to all the types of flying you do. Contained within are a number of require procedures, many relating directly to flight line etiquette.

It's not that they have poor social skills, they may be new to the hobby and don't know what is expected of them.

I guess social etiquette at the field needs to mentioned for those that have poor social skills and don't realize how annoying some of their actions are. Other things mentioned in this post are safety issues that need to be mentioned so that the hobby can be enjoyed safely.

Our guide to toy airplane etiquette...

Pre-flight safety and etiquette
Fly with a buddy, it’s safer
Ensure your batteries are charged
Check that all your flight controls do function and in the correct direction
Check that all linkages are secure
Check that the propeller(s) are secure
Do a radio range test
Set up your radio so you can kill the engine or disable the electric motor with a switch on the transmitter or plane (see your radio manufacture manual)
Program your fail safe (see your radio manufacture manual)
Welcome new comers with a smile
After flying, enjoy an ice cream at Dad’s Ice Cream, open until 9 pm in season
Have fun!

And on that note, if you are a 3D pilot and others are flying circuits already, if you just have to get in the air, fine but don't be a dick and hover in front of the flight line.
