Re: Guillow Cessna 170 (Electric?) Program your own timer is here - https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/sho...d.php?t=584287. It uses a low cost 'off the shelf' microcontroller development board that's simple to program. Paul |

Re: Guillow Cessna 170 (Electric?) For the motor control, you can get a motor timer made for control line. I read a couple of threads on here where people made suggestions for controllers. I did a quick google search and I found these two on the first try: https://www.stevensaero.com/product/...ine-timer-ecl/ https://bernarto.s3.amazonaws.com/mo...mer-index.html There was also a thread on how to make your own somewhere on here.... |

Re: Guillow Cessna 170 (Electric?) Park 300 sounds about right. Maybe something a little smaller if you just want an anemic scale like performance. You'd be surprised how much extra power it takes just to drag those two control lines through the air. Welcome back to control line. Paul |

Re: Guillow Cessna 170 (Electric?) Nice to hear from you, Max. It's 24" wingspan, stick, fabric and sheet balsa construction. I intend to fly it as control line. The plans recommend a .020 motor, but I don't know if that's for free flight or control line. I've been browsing the forums since posting, and I'm surprised at the large motors people use in a model this size. (Park 300, for example!) What else can I tell you about it? (Slightly off topic: My wife and I had a lovely holiday in Aurora some years ago where I attended a woodworking class at a school on the river.) My wife tells me it was Almonte! Bob |

Guillow Cessna 170 (Electric?) Don't know anything about control line, except for my little .049 models from 60 years ago. Could use some advice on motor size, escapements, etc. Thanks, Bob |
