Glad to hear you are still enjoying the Diabolo. I think they are quite unique and very high quality.

I can't wait to build the 600.

The pricing is not for the faint of heart but they are well designed and of the highest quality. I now have 114 flights on it and it gets better with every session. The flybarless is now changed to the Spektrum FC6250HX with an AR4651T remote plus one standard DSMX remote. Working great with my iX12. Take care.

Thanks guys. If you zoom in on the blades, you will see the cover pieces I did that I made from aluminized vinyl (Cricut). They looked fantastic and I was hoping they would last a long time but that was not to be. While competing in an F3C competition at that club, a heavy cloudburst came down near the end of my routine. I heard a loud snap and saw something flutter off the helicopter. At first, I thought it was a bird strike, but there was not enough of a cloud of feathers for that to have happened. The very next thought was the covering and sure as shootin', when I finished and landed, the tip covering was missing on one blade. The weight was negligible so no out of balance shakes happened as I spooled down. The rain drops struck the leading edge of the blade on which the covering started about a quarter inch from the leading edge. Hydraulic pressure peeled off the tape so as long as I never flew in rain, I would put a new piece on to replace the missing section. Lesson learned, unless the pieces wrap around the leading edge, they will peel off sometime in the future so all pieces have been removed, sigh. Take care.

I did a bit more work to improve the visibility. I can really see this one way out there. The landing gear is made from two sets of the regular tilted struts so that the skids do not visually distract from the angle the helicopter appears to be in the air. The gear are the taller rear struts. I also tilted the chassis to the right for better takeoff stability. The airfield in the background is the Triple Creek RC Club outside of Riverview, Fla, one of the best places I have ever found to fly. A couple of other clubs give it a run for its money but the unobstructed view is to die for.

I really like the stock simple canopy's. Looks great in the orange and black, just like exotic sports cars and there perfect one color paint jobs with black trim. I agree with you Ken, I think a Diabolo 700 UL would be an awesome heli ! Hmmmmmm

Very nice helicopters. I had a Diabolo 550. I have always wanted to build a Diabolo 700 light version.

Thanks. The more I fly it, the more I realize that it was THE helicopter for my type of flying. I wonder what a top ranked F3C pilot could do with it?
