Re: Boomerang Sprint Conversion to Gas

Gassers certainly have their place, but I don't think this hybrid would really catch on..😁😂

Welcome back!!

I have a 1st generation Baby Boomerang that is undergoing a re-fit. The airframe is still in good shape, just going to clean up and simplify the installation, and replace fuel lines etc. Also replacing those tiny airscoops with a set of proper air inlets from a Nano

Wayne,

Your absolutely correct. It flew Ok but only just. The look and sound was just not right.
It's back to the jet configuration ready for a Turbine installation. It's currently for sale as airframe only but if there are no takers I have a K85G2 on order and can get it in the air quickly. I also have the new V2 Sprint on order.

Back to Turbines, Wahoooooo. Who would have thought?????

Neat project, but it sounds so wrong on many levels.....!😁

That looks like Wingham airport...

Trevor needs Speed. I need to relax and have fun. Although a nice new V2 Sprint with a DLE 55 and a 19x12 prop would be a great winter project for next year. Maybe not 200 mph but 180 for sure. Hummmmm.

What's Larry's number??

I shouldn't spill the beans but I have to.... Brian tells me next phase will be to put a DLE120 in it with an 18x30 3-blade prop for clearance and go for 200mph.
Something tells me that would be a Trevor mod.

Although, it does sound like an attempt should be made to try it out.

Re: Boomerang Sprint Conversion to Gas

Thanks for the congrats Peter ??, Ken. You may be right Ken, it needed a bit of down trim on the first flight and on the second flight when I did the C of G inverted upline pass it slowly started it ark over. I'll leave it for now.

What I really like about is that it flies at a speed that fits my current mental abilities. LOL

Congrats Brian

I think you may be on the edge of being tail heavy for C of G it really popped up on the takeoff run and again on landing. - It does fly nice a bit slower for sure - Congrats on following your dream for this bird you put in a lot of excellent work to get here Two huge thumbs up from me!

Cheers
Ken
